How Many Rights Have Americans Given Away?

This is a very detailed article here.

In every election, 98% of Americans insist on voting for candidates from the two establishment parties who have a very extensive history of trampling on out liberties. There is no duty – especially if you are a Christian – to vote for the “lesser of two evils.”

Dorner: “There Is No Truth, Only News”

By Doug Newman

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Unless you live in North Korea, whatever news feeds you follow deluged you with the saga of Christopher Dorner. The orgy of media attention to this story is proof of the power of the media to sway opinion.
doors la womanWe will never know much of anything for sure about this story. However, as Denver radio talk host Peter Boyles is fond of saying, “If it bleeds, it leads.” To paraphrase the Doors’ lyric from “LA Woman”, mayhem, manhunt, murder, madness … the Dorner saga had it all.
We will never know for sure if Dorner ever did any of the horrible things he was accused of. He may be guilty as charged or he may be totally innocent. It matters not how severe the accusations, nor how intense the weight of public opinion may be against the defendant. Guilt must be determined in court via Due Process, as spelled out in the Sixth Amendment to the Constitution. And if these protections do not apply to Christopher Dorner, they do not apply to you. Yeah, you!
We will also never know if Dorner ever truly posed an imminent threat to the cops who finished him off in the burning cabin at Big Bear Lake. The LAPD will never have to answer this question. Dorner’s guilt was already established in the public mind. How? The mass media said Dorner was guilty. And said it again and again and again. And that was enough for millions of people.
Charles Manson and Tim McVeigh each had their days in court. Nidal Malik Hasan – the suspected Fort Hood shooter – and James Holmes – the suspected Aurora theater shooter – both await trial. Their is much more blood on their hands than on those of Dorner.
vyctorya sandoval
Vyctorya Sandoval, 2, was one of these 13 children.
On Wednesday evening, I went to the Los Angeles Times web page to find the latest on the Dorner manhunt. Right next to the headline that said “Dorner manhunt is over”, I read the following: “Report excoriates L.A. County agency in child deaths, torture.” According to a recent investigation, incompetence on behalf of the Los Angeles County Department of Child and Family Services led to the deaths of 13 children. This is over three times as many as allegedly were killed by Christopher Dorner.
Even though these are just allegations at this point, do they not justify unleashing the terrible swift sword of every law enforcement agency within 200 miles on these people and letting Due Process be damned? I mean, like, 13 children are dead here. And a very prominent media organ reported it. So it must be true and sufficient to nail shut the coffin of guilt.
I posted this link on Facebook last week, only to take it down. In 24 hours, not a single person commented on it, even though three times as many innocent people perished entirely too soon. And as there were no guns involved, the story will not garner nearly the attention that Sandy Hook, Virginia Tech or Columbine did.
bad copFor the Left Angeles Times to report it is one thing. But to devote any considerable energy to it would expose the downright criminal incompetence of the state. On the other hand, joining with the LAPD in ganging up on Dorner while totally ignoring any constitutional constraints on their authority, glorifies the state.
And for you “conservatives” out there who insist that you hate the government, yet “support the police”, you have been just as manipulated as all the folks in the ghetto who think Obama is going to give them something for nothing. The police are the business end of the state. When things get ugly, it will not be Obama who takes your guns. It will be the local cops, i.e. the cats at Dunkin’ Donuts.
peter jenningsHitler and his spokesliar Goebbels knew the power of lies. Keep them big, keep them simple, tell them again and again, and people will believe them.The American mainstream media know likewise. And they have been incredibly successful in duping the majority of Americans.
As former ABC News anchor Peter Jennings once put it, “There is no truth, only news.” They tell you what they want you to hear. Millions of people will believe whatever their favorite media outlets tell them, never subjecting it to any scrutiny. The gullibility of the American people is a far bigger problem than what is happening in Washington, as it is the largest enabler of this metastasizing tyranny.
It happens all the time. Look what the media did to the Ron Paul for president campaign.
“No Other Gods Before Me” … Means the IRS, Too
By Doug Newman
Twelve years ago this week, the Indianapolis Baptist Temple was raided by federal marshals for its refusal to genuflect before the IRS.
  • When Jesus told us – Matthew 22:21 – to “render therefore unto Caesar the things that are Caesar’s”, He did not say, “give Caesar everything he demands and then sit down and shut up.”
  • This happened with the blessing of the Blues Brothers, GW Bush and his Attorney General John Ashcroft. They were on a mission from God. For eight years, millions of Christians would carry on as if Duh-bya was part four of the Holy Trinity. How many of them even know that his travesty happened in the first few weeks of the Duh-bya presidency? 1%, maybe.
I Have Lost Two Friends to Gun Violence – Letter to the Denver Post
Editor:
I have lost two friends to gun violence. Last July, a friend of several years was killed in the Aurora theater shooting. Three years ago, an old friend committed suicide by shooting himself.
While my friends were killed with guns, they were not killed by guns. Someone could have detonated a pipe bomb at the Century 16 Theater, killing 12 and injuring dozens. My other friend could have committed suicide with a knife, a rope or a bottle full of pills. Gun confiscation would not have prevented either tragedy.
I will not pretend to speak for anyone else affected by these tragedies. However, I myself will not yield one inch to the demands of those who wish to infringe on my God-given constitutionally-guaranteed right to defend myself. In a world where bad people with guns are undeterred by laws, good people must not be limited in their right to self-defense.
Profiling: It’s Not Just for Muslims Anymore
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

“For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind” – Hosea 8:7

Jews from Hungary arrive at Auschwitz.

Jews from Hungary arrive at Auschwitz.

Although I didn’t know it until I was 15, I am a quarter Jewish. My great grandparents, Jacob Newman and Regina Moskowitz, were Hungarian Jews who immigrated to America sometime around 1880. I would imagine that some distant relatives whose names I will never know perished in the Holocaust. Hence, I start to squirm whenever the powers that be want to categorize people by race or, indeed, any arbitrary characteristic.

While Obama is a terrible president, he is doing nothing new. Presidents ever since Washington have issued executive orders (EOs) and the American people have tolerated them. Indeed, when presidents we like overstep their constitutionally defined limits, we set a precedent for presidents we don’t like to do likewise. What goes around comes around.

On his ninth day in office in 2001, GW Bush issued an EO creating the White House Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives, which was a very bad idea for biblical, constitutional and several other reasons. Shortly thereafter, someone with Focus on the Family just oozed with exuberance, saying that this EO showed that “the president means business.”

With he issued EO 9066, FDR meant business.

When he issued EO 9066, FDR meant business.

I am no prophet but I remember asking myself what this person would say if some future Democrat president issued an EO he didn’t like because he “meant business” in implementing a left-wing agenda.

If EOs ever got people angry it happened last week when Obama announced his 23 executive actions against guns.  There is no shortage here about which to be indignant. However, as my time is limited, I want to address Order #4 which will “Direct the Attorney General to review categories of individuals prohibited from having a gun to make sure dangerous people are not slipping through the cracks.”

Governments foreign and domestic have been making policy based on arbitrary distinctions for a long, long time. This is due to the fact that people have let them get away with it. And it is nothing new in America.

stereotype profilingIn the aftermath of 9/11, millions of Americans had no problem with the profiling of Muslims. After all, look at all the trouble 19 of them had caused. When they came for the Muslims, it was OK because the Muslims are, well, those people over there.

If Uncle Sam truly wanted to profile and otherwise restrict the liberty of a particular group of people based on a criminal history, he should have gone after the most violent and murderous demographic in America: unmarried men.

No, let’s not. That would be a bad idea. Why? Because I am an unmarried man.

It is always easy to say that your government should “do something” as long as they do it to somebody else.

experts gun controlNow, Obama has decided that he can “direct the Attorney General to review categories of individuals prohibited from having a gun to make sure dangerous people are not slipping through the cracks.”

There has been a misguided notion for years that we should “disarm crazy people.” The world’s worst crazies have always risen to the top of governmental heaps. And what constitutes crazy? The old Soviet regime would put political dissidents in mental hospitals. Do you really want Uncle Sam to be the arbiter of craziness? Be careful what you ask for.

In 2009, the governor of Missouri issued the infamous MIAC report that branded almost anyone who ventured outside the 48-yard lines of acceptable criticism of government as “dangerous”. Read this PDF, especially the last three pages. As my back bumper is festooned with Ron Paul stickers, am I “dangerous”? Should I be disarmed?

And if POTUS can now arbitrarily categorize people as dangerous and thereby deny them their Second Amendment rights, what other rights can he capriciously deny?

Skulls of Khmer Rouge victims.

Skulls of Khmer Rouge victims.

Rogue dictators have routinely demonized entire races and classes of people and singled them out for murder. Consider the fate of Jews under Hitler, kulaks – i.e. affluent farmers – under Stalin, and landlords under Mao.

In Pol Pot’s Cambodia, one could be killed simply for wearing eyeglasses. It was assumed by those in power – i.e. those who still had guns – that people with glasses could be reading counterrevolutionary literature and thus constituted a threat to the regime.

mao political power mugWhenever I hear people say “we should take away guns”, I always have to ask (1) just who is this “we” and (2) how will this takeaway be implemented, if not at the point of a gun? And whenever I hear people say that we should “go after” certain people, I immediately want to remind them that there are other people who want to “go after” them. You reap what you sow.

Our Bill of Rights is a set of firewalls against tyranny. And when these firewalls are breached, for whatever reason, and the infernos of tyranny rage, will you, reader, be able to avoid being burned alive?

“You Have the Right to Remain Silent” … At Least for Now

By Doug Newman

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“nor shall any person … be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself” — Fifth Amendment, U.S. Constitution
This case – Salinas v. Texas – deserves special attention. From this short article comes the following: “The Supreme Court on Friday agreed to consider whether a suspect’s refusal to answer police questions prior to being arrested and read his rights can be introduced as evidence of guilt at his subsequent murder trial.”
If you can be presumed guilty until proven innocent for any reason whatsoever, and sent to prison without the Due Process protections of the Fifth and Sixth Amendments, the game is over.
If only we had heard one percent as much about this during 2012 as we did about the absolutely meaningless presidential election. Trust me, neither Obama nor Romney cared one iota about this issue. You are far more likely to encounter a policeman than you are to meet the person – federal, state or local – for whom you voted.
If you neither know your rights or are not willing to assert these rights when accused by the authorities of wrongdoing, nothing else really matters. The greatest threat to our freedom and security comes not from some foreign land, or even from Obama, monster that he is. Rather, it comes from an ignorant and spineless populace.
Excellent article from the Activist Post : 5 Reasons Why I’ll Never Take the Flu Shot.
  • So what do I do to prevent flu? Vitamin D3 – 2000 IU daily – and very occasional Echinacea. I have not had the flu in about 3 years.
  • Also, from the article, “The FDA can overlook the horrible side effects and suicides caused by anti-depressant pharmaceuticals while attempting to ban the sale of St. John’s Wort, a remedy that has been used successfully for hundreds of years.” Yours truly takes St. John’s Wort about twice a month for depression.flu shots
The NRA Supports Gun Control
It all started long before Wayne LaPierre proposed putting armed guards in every school in America. Far from being the “foremost defender of the Second Amendment”, the NRA has an extensive history of supporting gun control.
Don’t just take my word for it. Look at this history of NRA compromises as outlined by Mike Gaddy.
And if you want to join a TRUE no-compromise pro-Second Amendment group, join Gun Owners of America.
