How do I know this? Because the government lets doctors prescribe them to you and me. And also because they are worth billions of dollars to Wall Street.
And besides, if they were bad, the media would talk all the time about the damage they do. But they don’t because … oh, the pharmaceutical industry spends billions of dollars advertising on the major media.
Marijuana, on the other hand, can be grown in a baking tin.

When I read that Senator Barbara Boxer (D-Hell) proposed letting governors use national guard troops to increase school security, I was reminded of this picture. Yes, it is photoshopped, but it conveys a profound point. Is there any point at which those who love the police state won’t stop? As with any breach of the Constitution, you must ask: what is going to be next?

Was the horrific mass murder in Newtown a staged event? A PSYOP? Are the networks telling us the whole story?
You don’t need to believe everything listed below. However, don’t just swallow what the mainstream media is serving up either.

Mark Twain once lamented that there were “lies, damned lies and statistics”, with the third being the most deceptive at all. I was reminded of this the other evening when examining a “hit piece” that was circulating on Facebook last Friday in the aftermath of the horrific mass murder at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.
I was feeling a bit wonkish and I thought I would look up some statistics on violence and gun ownership around the world. One study I found was from the 2007 Small Arms Survey that dealt with the number of guns per capita in 177 nations around the world. The other was a 2012 U.N. study on the number of intentional homicides in nations around the world.
While I am not a professional statistician, we can conclude one thing: there simply is no correlation between the murder rates and rates of firearms ownership.
Let’s first consider the countries on the above graphic:
Japan has almost no gun ownership.
England has a low rate of gun ownership.
Switzerland ranks fourth in the world in guns per capita.
Canada ranks thirteenth in the world in guns per capita.
Israel has a moderate rate of guns per capita.
Sweden ranks tenth in the world in guns per capita.
Germany ranks fifteenth in the world in guns per capita.
The United States has the highest gun ownership rate on earth.
Now let’s consider just a few statistics from the two surveys:
Honduras has the highest homicide rate on earth, and a gun ownership rate similar to that of Great Britain.
Rounding out the top five countries for highest homicide rate are El Salvador, the Ivory Coast, Jamaica and Venezuela, all of which have fairly low rates of gun ownership.
North Korea has a homicide rate over three times that of the United States and almost no gun ownership.
Yemen has the third highest rate of gun ownership and a homicide rate about equal to that of the United States. Serbia, with the second highest rate of gun ownership, has a homicide rate about one-third that of the United States.
Norway ranks eleventh in the world in gun ownership and near the bottom in homicide. (Yes, someone went nutzoid there in the summer of 2011. However, five million other Norwegians didn’t.)
Mexico has the same rate of gun ownership as Australia, and 16 times the homicide rate.
Over 100 countries have higher homicide rates than the United States.
On Friday evening, I posted the following graphic about gun control and received some interesting comments.
One person was most indignant that I would make a connection between the genocide of Nazi Germany and the murder of innocents in Newtown, Connecticut. Both were gun-free zones where victim disarmament did not prevent mass murder.
Another asked why every government of a disarmed nation is not killing their own citizens en masse. To be sure, not every disarmed nation has experienced genocide. However, numerous genocides – e.g., Nazi Germany, Soviet Russia, Mao’s China, Pol Pot’s Cambodia, North Korea – have followed citizen disarmament. Do you want to run that risk here in America?
The issue is not gun ownership. Rather, it is the evil that resides in the human heart. Depriving people of a tool – any tool – will not cure this. If people intent on crime cannot use one tool, they will use another. And when someone wants to victimize you, do you, in that most dreadful of moments, want to be denied the means of self-defense?
No?
Me neither.

Very little surprises me anymore. Hence, I cannot say I was surprised to learn that actor Jamie Foxx recently referred to Obama as “our lord and savior.”
Yes, it is this Jamie Foxx, who so brilliantly portrayed Ray Charles in the 2004 movie.
Do all those who support Obama support deify him? Certainly not! However, Foxx’s remark is symptomatic of a disturbing trend in the way Americans view their president. Even if Obama is the first president to be viewed as godlike, it is merely a continuation of the totally unfounded adulation that so many on the right had for his predecessor GWBush.
During the 2000 election season, a reporter asked candidate Bush which philosopher influenced him most. He responded “Christ, because He changed my heart.”
Whether or not GWBush is a Christian is ultimately between him and God. However, for the next eight-plus years, we heard no end of what a great and godly man he was. Megachurch pastors and “Christian” media hacks who are more often pimps for the pachyderm* than anything else relentlessly extolled the virtues of This Great Christian President.
I never heard anyone attribute actual godhood to GWBush, but after all the Bible studies and church lunches I attended, it would not surprise me if someone somewhere did. GWBush said one thing about Jesus Christ one time and that is all it took for millions of biblically illiterate professing Christians to disengage their brains.
Jesus taught that we are to know people “by their fruits” – Matthew 7:20. The fruit on the Bush, if you will, included but was not limited to: aggressive war, torture, warrantless searches and spying, increasingly militarized police, and guilt without trial. His economic fruit consisted of outspending Kim Jong-Bill Clinton by $1 trillion per year and adding $5 trillion to the national debt. Socialism is not Christian – Exodus 20:15, 17; II Corinthians 9:7 – and GWBush was a raging socialist.
But none of this mattered to millions of googly-eyed church zombies who bent their knees before their Great Christian President. As Pastor Chuck Baldwin once so brilliantly put it, they wanted to add Bush to the Holy Trinity.
I have heard it said that the presidency is like a Fibonacci sequence in that presidents merely keep building on what their predecessors have done. Just as GWBush expanded on Clinton, Obama has expanded on GWBush. And the cult of personality that surrounds the presidency has grown accordingly. **
This is all part of what I call “the Great Ramp-Up to the anti-Christ.” Revelation 13:3 foretells of an all-powerful world ruler whom “all the world wondered after.”
I tremble when I consider the cult following that will surround whoever comes after Obama in the Oval Office. It will require serious spiritual preparation on the part of the true Christian remnant to withstand the onslaught of lies and deception.
I know that God ultimately rules the world and that He, not GWBush, is The Ultimate Decider of how nations are governed – Daniel 2:21; 4:17, Acts 17:26. I don’t know why He has allowed the Orwellian nightmare that is North Korea to go on for over 60 years. Perhaps it is to serve as a lesson of what awaits us if we place unlimited, unfounded trust in secular rulers. Those poor people in North Korea have no choice but to worship their Dear Leader – if they do not want to be sent to prison camps.
North Koreans are forced into this. Americans aren’t … at least not yet.
In America, it is another story. In the words of Malcolm Muggeridge: “People believe lies not because they have to, but because they want to.”
The disciples asked Jesus “what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?” Jesus answered “Take heed that no man deceive you” – Matthew 24:3-4.
And by that, He meant NO MAN!
Any questions?

* I read this phrase on a blog somewhere. Oh how I wish I had coined it myself.
** Ron Paul supporters were often branded as cultists. Reassuring proof that we are not cultists was the outrage that erupted when his son Rand, the senator from Kentucky, announced his support for Mitt Romney’s candidacy.

Even though the suspects remained – and still remain – at-large, the lockdown was lifted a little over two hours later.
Now wait just a cottonpickin’ minute here:
Don’t school lockdowns keep children safe from armed wackjobs that might be roaming the neighborhood?
And if so, why were the schools taken off lockdown while the suspects remained at-large?
This is not the first time Aurora Police put schools on lockdown because of “police activity.” Just over three weeks ago, Gateway High School and Jewell Elementary School were put on lockdown for over eight hours because of a police investigation at an apartment building at Mississippi and Sable.
If people are going to tolerate school lockdowns, it is only a matter of time before police put places where adults congregate – office buildings, grocery stores, shopping malls, hospitals, gyms – on lockdown. How will adults like it then?
School lockdowns, as this morning’s episode demonstrates, have nothing to do with the safety of children and everything to do with advancing the police state via terror. When enough people accept this as the norm, what other forms of totalitarianism will the powers that be get them to sign off on?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ UPDATE – 12/4/12: Meanwhile, the Aurora PD arrested a suspected serial rapist today without any extracurricular drama. Why can’t they do it this way every time?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ IT’S NOT JUST AURORA: In Denver yesterday, a preschool was put on lockdown after a bank robbery. The lockdown was lifted even though the perps were still at-large.

Do what you want with the information below. Don’t believe every conspiracy theory you read. There are numerous unanswered questions about this horrific crime. Do your own thinking.
And RIP to my friend of many years, Gordon Cowden, who perished on that horrible evening.
These questions are from an email I received:
Eight yet to be answered questions about James Holmes and the Century Theater Aurora mass killings and woundings:1.) Who called Holmes’ cell phone 20 minutes into the movie and triggered his leaving through the emergency exit?2.) What caused an “A”- student to decline so precipitously in his performance at school beginning in May?3.) Was he on medication? Was he hypnotized? After his arrest, he told police he had taken 100 milligrams of Vicodan, a prescription painkiller.
4.) Where did a student who needed government grants to attend college get the estimated $20,000 + cash to buy all of the guns, ammo, chemicals, electronics, and equipment with which he was found?
– Why were there two gas masks?
– Why did he wear body armor yet not resist arrest?
5.) Why did he immediately forewarn the police that his apartment was booby trapped with explosives when his intended purpose was to injure or kill whoever might enter his apartment?
6.) How sophisticated were the booby traps, and where did he get the expertise to make them? Why did the bomb squad take two days to disarm things if he did not have any expertise?
7.) Why was there a trail of bloody footprints which went way beyond the point of Holmes’ arrest and around the corner of the building?
8.) Did Holmes have an accomplice? Some of those in the audience have testified to seeing a tear gas canister thrown from a different direction than Homes was standing.
Additional unanswered questions on a follow-up email:
Eyewitness Corbin Dates describes a man with a goatee as having been the one who took the cell phone call, then propped open the exit door. Not only did Holmes not have a goatee, but no eyewitnesses describe a man with bright orange hair as being in line, or in the theater or the lobby. Granted, the man who entered the theater was fully covered in SWAT gear (gas mask and helmet), so, the hair was fully covered.
Regarding Holmes’ condition on arrest–the following suggests that he was incapacitated:
The person who got the cell phone call sure acted as if he knew in advance that it was not alarmed.
Also: Why did the Aurora Police not detain large numbers of innocent people here like they did on June 2 and November 9? They claim such detentions are necessary for public safety. I mean, like, there could have been another crazed gunman in the area.
Gordon Cowden, my friend for over a decade, met a most untimely and premature demise in this tragedy.
