Why is marijuana illegal?
“Because it is bad for you,” say the moral nanomanagers of the world.
Meanwhile, out in real life, the Heart Attack Grill is alive and well and operating in Downtown Las Vegas. (Their other two locations in Dallas and in the Phoenix suburb of Chandler both closed voluntarily. The Chandler location did so after its 575-pound spokesman went to meet his Maker at age 29.)
These menu items from the Heart Attack Grill are perfectly legal. A plant that God gave us in the eleventh verse of the Bible is not legal.
And why can this Arizona woman do this to herself without Ninja-clad tax-mainlining goons kicking down her door sans a judge’s warrant and spraying lead? (Did she ever make it to the Chandler Heart Attack Grill? It was only a 40-minute ride up I-10 from Casa Grande, where she lives.)
Susanne Eman weighs 728 pounds. She wants to weigh 1600 pounds.
And why are so many prescription drugs with about 88 terrifying potential side effects each advertised on radio and TV every day? Consider something called NuVigil, that supposedly helps you stay awake if you are graveyarding it. The following is from NuVigil’s own website.
- “NUVIGIL may cause serious side effects including a serious rash or a serious allergic reaction that may affect parts of your body such as your liver or blood cells, and may result in hospitalization and be life-threatening. If you develop a skin rash, hives, sores in your mouth, blisters, swelling, peeling, or yellowing of the skin or eyes, trouble swallowing or breathing, dark urine, or fever, stop taking NUVIGIL and call your doctor right away or get emergency help.
- “You should not take NUVIGIL if you have had a rash or allergic reaction to NUVIGIL or PROVIGIL® (modafinil) Tablets [C-IV], or are allergic to any of the following ingredients: modafinil, armodafinil, croscarmellose sodium, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, povidone, or pregelatinized starch.
- “Stop taking NUVIGIL and call your doctor or get emergency help if you get any of the following serious side effects:
- “Mental (psychiatric) symptoms, including: depression, feeling anxious, sensing things that are not really there, extreme increase in activity (mania), thoughts of suicide, aggression, or other mental problems.
- “Symptoms of a heart problem, including: chest pain, abnormal heart beat, and trouble breathing.
- “Common side effects of NUVIGIL are headache, nausea, dizziness, and trouble sleeping. These are not all the side effects of NUVIGIL.”
Contrast this with the side effects of marijuana: goofiness, munchies and an uncontrollable urge to vedge out to pre-Dark Side of the Moon Pink Floyd tunes.
Go sell your “gateway drug” jive somewhere else. People typically drink alcohol – which is far more fraught with peril – before they burn hippie lettuce. Why do we not draw the line at Olde Demon Rum? Or with diet soft drinks that are laced with aspartame? Better yet, why do we not do so with the absolutely damnable substance that is dihydrogen monoxide?
The War on Drugs and Plants that Uncle Sam Doesn’t Like is just a bigger, uglier and costlier version of what failed so miserably between 1920 and 1933.
And if you think this doesn’t effect you, think again. A government that will criminalize possession and consumption of a plant that probably grows wild in your zip code knows no limits on its power and will do absolutely anything to its subjects.

If Obama was as smart as people think he is he would lift the ban on commercial hemp.
( Commercial hemp can not be smoked ) Over 1500 products that we use every day that are made from petroleum could be made with hemp. This includes ALL plastics, lubricants, some fuels, rope much stronger than the nylon we use now that requires oil to produce. Our forefathers knew the value of hemp. There was a time when farmers could be fined for NOT growing hemp. 1 acre of hemp produces many times the amount of pulp that we currently cut down oxygen producing trees for today, and can be harvested every year. Hemp doesn’t deplete the soil and requires very little fertilizer and has few pests. It would create a great cash crop for the struggling farmers. Hemp was banned for political reasons only. DuPont invented nylon and needed the military contract to sell their rope to. So they hired so called scientists to tell congress lies to have it banned
How can the govt. justify the banning of marijuana because it’s bad for you and yet allow alcohol and tobacco to be sold in every store? THEY CANT. 1 person is killed on Americas highways EVERY 47 minutes due to alcohol related accidents. That doesn’t even touch on the facts of how many marriages and families are destroyed due to alcoholism. Tobacco is the number 1 cause of heart disease. The tax payers end up footing the bill for all the medical problems caused by alcohol and tobacco. Marijuana is not addictive and new studies have proven that it does not destroy brain cells as we were lied to about. Ask yourself who stands to gain the most by the banning of weed? The answer is the oil giants, the alcohol industries and big pharma. It’s no coincidence that these 3 have the largest lobbyist groups in Washington and we all know that they have our corrupt politicians in their pockets with kickbacks and bribes

I take Nuvigil every day for my narcolepsy; i didn’t experience any side effects when I started except a massive increase in my GPA that allowed me to appeal a lost scholarship and earn back $12,000… I can’t stay awake at all during classes, church, studying, reading, shopping, watching tv with my family and friends, or driving without it. I just thought you might find that interesting. I’m pretty neutral on marijuana and think it could have helped a close friend of mine with anorexia, but man, please don’t hate a really helpful drug for people with real, severe problems.

Really enjoyed reading this, mate. Living in the UK, we don’t have anything quite as bad as Heart Attack Grill yet, but it is only a matter of time. We always catch up with you guys in the end, and that is no doubt something we can all look forward to. You make an excellent point about how it is perfectly legal to peddle such deadly filth to the masses, yet dear old MJ is outlawed. Crazy.
Every weekend (and a lot of weekdays) here in Leeds, I see people staggering around the city centre drunk as lords; shouting, vomiting, brawling, fornicating and stuffing junk food down their necks. Do people behave in such a fashion after puffing on a spliff or two? No, they do not.
Later this evening, I shall be burning some hippy lettuce and enjoying some pre-Dark Side Floyd, although I do occasionally go for Dark Side or Wish You Were Here as well. Mostly though, I stick to the likes of Careful With That Axe, Eugene and Echoes:-) Better still, some Hawkwind!

I don’t think, marijuana should be illegal. Yes, it is true that a patient may react negatively to the side effects of marijuana. It is legal for medical purposes only. Marijuana is helpful for those patient who are suffering any kind of stress, body pain, depression, cancer, HIV/AIDS, Headache, migraine and asthma etc.
