Three years ago, tonight, I received a death threat. That night I slept on a friend’s couch and woke up screaming about 6 times. For about 3 weeks afterwards I had pretty serious challenges with PTSD. After that things dwindled to almost nothing.

In all of 2019, I had 1 attack. It was triggered by a super aggressive tailgater.

I have had numerous attacks over the last 12 months from those worthless masks. (I avoided them whenever possible and haven’t worn one at all since I had to go to the Arapahoe courthouse at the start of June.)

Overall, my PTSD issues are relatively minor. But those masks are super confining and trigger flashbacks.

However, I have several friends who have had far more serious issues ranging from difficulty breathing to severe headaches to frequent sore throat to mask rash to almost fainting on a few occasions. One friend had a relative who died of a lung infection she contracted as a result of wearing a mask all the time.

And this is just in my circle of friends. Let alone all 330 million people in this country.

Life is way too indescribably complex to think that radically redirecting it will happen without any unintended consequences. And if science could only be handed down to us by certain designated elites and could never be questioned, humanity never would have emerged from the Dark Ages.

And life expectancy would be much shorter.

You have no idea what some people are dealing with. Before you scream at, guilt-trip, censor, abuse, bully, humiliate, threaten, and attribute the worst imaginable motives to anybody who doesn’t goose-step along with what you, the government, and the media want them to do, show them a little bit of grace. And exercise your capacity to think.

You have your reasons for living your life your way. And other people have their reasons for living their lives their way. Let’s respect each other.

About Food for the Thinkers

My name is Doug Newman. I live in Aurora, Colorado, just outside Denver. Food for the Thinkers is mostly about the connection between Christianity and libertarianism. Most Christians do not understand libertarianism. And most libertarians do not understand Christianity. Hopefully, this blog helps clear up those misunderstanding. Check out my old page at www.thefot.us And remember: When you let people do whatever they want, you get Woodstock. But when you let governments do whatever they want, you get Auschwitz.
