50 years ago this Friday, Richard E. Nixon declared a “war on drugs”.

* Drugs won.

* Prisons won.

* Cartels won.

* Cops won.

* Gangs won.

* Big pHARMa won.

* Fear won.

* Control won.

* Self-righteousness won.

* Unintended consequences won

.Just because Problem X exists, does not mean that Solution Y is The Answer and that anybody who questions it has the absolute worst motives and intentions imaginable.

About Food for the Thinkers

My name is Doug Newman. I live in Aurora, Colorado, just outside Denver. Food for the Thinkers is mostly about the connection between Christianity and libertarianism. Most Christians do not understand libertarianism. And most libertarians do not understand Christianity. Hopefully, this blog helps clear up those misunderstanding. Check out my old page at www.thefot.us And remember: When you let people do whatever they want, you get Woodstock. But when you let governments do whatever they want, you get Auschwitz.

  1. pensiamentopeligroso says:

    War on poverty (longest war in America) and you get more poverty. War on drugs, and you get more drugs. War on homelessness, and you’ll get more homeless. The left always means the opposite of what they say. It’s called Orwellian “Newspeak”.
