“Let’s Get the Republican Party Back to Its Conservative Roots”

By Doug Newman

“The first time a Republican became president, he undermined habeas corpus, racked up loads of debt, and started a war that killed half a million Americans. The last time a Republican became president, he undermined habeas corpus, racked up loads of debt, and started a war that killed half a million foreigners. But if we keep working within the Republican Party, maybe we can turn it into an engine for peace and liberty, just like it used to be back at no time whatsoever.” — Anthony Gregory

“Next Tuesday, you can vote for a politician who sees an expansive role for government in every area of American life, whose largest executive accomplishment was socializing medicine, a gun grabber and stealth tax raiser who sees the economy as something to be managed by central planners rather than entrepreneurs, a protectionist who has championed four years of bailouts, war, and attacks on fundamental civil liberties. Or you can vote for Obama. The election of a lifetime!” — Anthony Gregory

Our last “conservative” president outspent Kommunist Klinton by $1 trillion per year and added $5 trillion to the debt. For five of his eight years in office, he had a “conservative” House and Senate majority. – Me

About Food for the Thinkers

My name is Doug Newman. I live in Aurora, Colorado, just outside Denver. Food for the Thinkers is mostly about the connection between Christianity and libertarianism. Most Christians do not understand libertarianism. And most libertarians do not understand Christianity. Hopefully, this blog helps clear up those misunderstanding. Check out my old page at www.thefot.us And remember: When you let people do whatever they want, you get Woodstock. But when you let governments do whatever they want, you get Auschwitz.
