I think you are correct, the knee jerk reaction to 9/11 allowed the Bush administration to seize many of our rights as citizens because we were afraid. The Patriot Act was probably the most unAmerican legislation ever passed outside of the Jim Crow Laws of the the 40′s, 50′s and 60′s. At least the Obama administration has had the descency to step on their collective wanger and now something may be done to start repairing the huge mess we allowed ourselves to be embroiled in. America has done a lot of “stupid” things because of therir fear and I hate to use this without referencing who said it but someone other than me pointed out that “If we are willing to sacrifice freedom for safety then we deserve neither” or words to that effect. Again a very good article but saying I told you so really doesn’t help to fix the problem. Do you have any ideas you are willing to post on what to do to fix the mess?

Coca cola wouldn’t waste billions of dollars on 30 second spots if they weren’t effective at influencing purchasing decisions. If you think you’re immune to brainwashing and propaganda that you have been voluntarily subjecting yourself to for years, you are a complete idiot. GW was a disaster for this country. Obama is only a little bit worse. He is building on the foundation that GW built which the neo-con RINOs funded and approved of.
